About Me
My name is DeAnna, and I am a Speech-Language Pathologist with 10 years of experience in pediatric home health based in San Antonio, Texas. I started working as a home health SLP-Assistant in 2015 while finishing my Master's degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock, Texas. After graduating in 2016, I moved to San Antonio, Texas and continued my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist working in pediatric home therapy.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children of all ages and abilities. My youngest clients have been newborns working on feeding and swallowing, while my oldest client was nearing 20 years of age. I have worked with children with developmental delays, Autism, speech delays/disorders, language delays/disorders, fluency disorders, and their families. Given these experiences, I fully appreciate the uniqueness of each child. Regardless of what their diagnosis might be, each child has their own individual strengths, weaknesses, interests, and personality! I don't shy away from the "detective work" of finding out which interventions or strategies are going to work for my clients. If something isn't clicking for them, it's my responsibility to change my approach until we get an "aha!" moment.

Lifelong learning is a huge passion of mine, and I have made it a priority to seek out new continuing education opportunities throughout my career. I am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS) and have been the recipient of two ASHA ACE awards, which are given to therapists who complete at least double the required continuing education credits per three year cycle. I want to provide the best services I possibly can to my clients, and I believe that staying up-to-date on current topics and new research is critical to achieving that goal. I always have a list of trainings that I am working on and I'm often even listening to courses or educational podcasts as I drive between clients!

I LOVE home-based speech therapy because it allows me to connect with the entire family, develop a partnership with parents, and ensure that our treatment is directly improving a child's day to day life. I am a firm believer that every child deserves access to communication and that by addressing areas of difficulty in childhood, we are setting our children up for success in the rest of their lives. Please reach out to me to discuss your concerns for your child- I want to help, and I would be honored to be a part of your child's team!
